Is it hard?
We don’t think so! Like anything new it takes some time to understand the equipment and to really get a feeling for it. We would say it takes an average of 3-5 minutes to learn the basic maneuvers of the products, but we think flyboard lessons are easier to learn.
We also provide you with bluetooth communication helmets. These helmets are provided by our friends at BB Talkn and make the whole experience 150 times better as our instructors will be able to communicate with you directly on the jet ski throughout your lesson.
Is it Safe?
Yes, the experiences are 100% Safe. When you start out for your first time we will control your power/height and you will control the direction. You won’t have to worry about reaching extreme heights for your first time. We usually start hovering our customers at around five to seven feet.
Our instructors are training for several hours before they are allowed to offer lessons to the public. We also offer helmets, life jackets, and wetsuits for each participant.
How old do you have to be to try the Flyboard, Hoverboard, or Jetpack devices?
Our insurance only allows 13 and older participants to take lessons with us. We have seen kids at age 7 actually fly the devices safely, but they had to buy a whole Flyboard Kit.

If you are looking for flyboarding near me then we are about 10-15 minutes from pacific beach or la jolla. and about 5-10 minutes from the gaslamp quarter in downtown San Diego.
If you are coming from Los Angeles or north county then it may take you some time to get here, so make sure to plan your trip accordingly. What other types of jet powered devices do you offer?
We do have a couple different flying water sport devices to choose from and most people choose the flyboard or hoverboard. We recommend you try the Flyboard for your first time out since it’s our favorite and the most easy to use when just learning. All devices connect to a jet ski and the water is pumped through a long hose eventually flowing through the one of the connected devices.
Are there different manufacturers of water Flyboards and Jetpacks?
Yes, there are a few different types of flyboards and water jetpacks manufactures that exist in the market today. The products we use are invented by Franky Zapata who invented the original flyboard back in 2011, just before we introduced the products to North America becoming the first rental/training on the west coast.
This is very important to know because the other boards around the area don’t offer the same board we do. We are the only ones in San Diego who offer the Flyboard Pro Series as it is the lightest and easiest to learn on. The board also gives you the feeling of flying like Iron Man and has different options and settings that other boards don’t have.
How much is a flyboard, jetpack, or hoverboard rental?
The prices of each experience depend on the time limit and type of Hydro-Flight device you choose for your rental. Our package pricing starts at $70 dollars and goes up to $200 dollars. How does the Hydro-Flight devices work?
The Hydro-Flight devices connect to a jet ski and the jetski pumps water through a long hose and then it comes out through the device lifting a person in the air. Our instructors will control your height and power, while you control the navigation. Imagine a picture of a dragon, you are the head, the hose is your body, and the jetski is the tail. The jetski follows you around in the water as you begin to fly.
Do you offer any other services?
At the moment we are currently focused on offering experiences with Zapata-Racing products, but we are now selling and looking at renting the electric surfboard products by the beginning of summer 2020.
How does the whole process work from when I book my Flyboard, Hoverboard, or jetpack rental to when the lessons are over.

- Complete the E-Waiver in the confirmation email we send you.
- Show up and watch the training video at our training center located at 2924 Emerson St. Suite 201 San Diego, CA 92106
- Get basic one on one instructions from our staff
- Suit up in a life jacket, helmet, and wetsuit (Optional)
- Start of Lesson – jump in the water and begin to taxi to training location
- End of lesson – shower off with fresh water and dry off.
